Re: GoldOption Line of Credit Acct # AAAAA XXXAAA
CC: Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, BBB
To Whom It May Concern:
Since writing to Bank Of America’s offices regarding being victimized by the frustratingly deceptive and unfair practices embedded in my Bank Of America Gold Option Line of Credit, three new developments have since occurred:
First, my ruined credit rating: As a direct result of the patently false and slanderous misinformation that Bank of America submitted to the three major credit reporting agencies Equifax, Experian and TransUnion regarding my account, I just learned that my credit rating—which was 780 as of Spring 2007—has plummeted by an average of over 135 points.
According Equifax’s tabulations, my credit rating as of Feb 2008 is now 661—that’s a drop of 119 points. According Experian, my credit rating is now 646—that’s a drop of 134 points. According to TransUnion, my credit rating as of Feb 2008 is now 649, which constitutes a drop of 131 points. Averaged out, Bank of America has caused my credit score to drop by a combined total of 384 points with average of 128 points across the three reporting firms.
Secondly: This treatment has led me to cancel my four Bank of America credit cards. While I fully understand that GoldOption Line of Credit is a separate product from Bank of America’s credit card business (which was a loyal user), I will no longer patronize Bank of America in any capacity.
Thirdly: In my last correspondence, I requested to be contacted by a Bank Of America representative. Yet no such attempt at communications has occurred—no phone calls, no letters, nothing. I am now pursing legal channels, which will include litigation. And because I have no doubt that I am not the only consumer that Bank Of America has done this to, I will also be contacting every media outlet possible in order to highlight these nefarious and callous practices.
Bank Of America’s callous disregard for customers and a desire for profits over people combined with a willful disregard of fair, reasonable and lawful business-to-consumer transactions has resulted in the ruin of my financial character and well-being while severely damaging my future plans as a consumer.
So with the help of the justice system, the court of public opinion and through focused, diligent consumer activism, I will seek justice and restitution. I will also use my experiences with BOA to alert as many consumers as possible as to the potential treatment they can expect from Bank Of America.
Sincerely,
HW
